Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Book Quote Therapy collects, why, and what rights you have over it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French data-protection law.
Who we are
Book Quote Therapy (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is run by Georgia Clare, based in France. For the purposes of the GDPR, Georgia Clare is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at georgia@bookquotedecor.com.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site and provide what you have asked for:
- Your email address, and sometimes your name, if you subscribe to our newsletter, download the free ebook, or contact us.
- Order information, if you buy a personalised prescription or another product: your name, email, and the details you choose to share in the intake questions. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment providers and are never seen or stored by us.
- Usage information, such as pages visited and general location (country or region), collected in aggregate through analytics to help us understand and improve the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described below.
How we use your information, and our lawful basis
- To send you the newsletter or free resources you asked for, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To provide and deliver a personalised prescription or other product you have bought, on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To understand how the site is used, keep it secure, and improve it, on the basis of our legitimate interests in running a functioning, safe website.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations where required.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the site. These fall into the following categories:
- an email and newsletter platform, for sending the letters and resources you have asked for;
- secure payment and order-processing providers, for handling purchases;
- digital-delivery services, for sending downloads and course access;
- website hosting;
- website analytics and search-performance tools.
Each of these providers processes your data only on our behalf and under its own privacy commitments. We are happy to tell you more about a specific provider on request.
International transfers
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent approved mechanisms.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies. Some are essential for the site to work. Others help us measure how the site is used through analytics. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and where required we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as we need it: newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it; order records for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes; and analytics data in aggregate. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at georgia@bookquotedecor.com and we will respond within the timeframes the law requires. As we are based in France, you also have the right to complain to the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés), the French data-protection authority, at www.cnil.fr.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to keep your data safe, and we work only with providers who do the same. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we act to protect your information at all times.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
