The short version: some of the book links on this site earn a small commission, it costs you nothing, and it has no bearing on which books appear.

What the links are

Book Quote Therapy is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

In practice that means when a book title on a prescription page links to Amazon and you go on to buy something, Amazon pays a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same. If you would rather not use the link, please don’t. Every book here is findable at your library, your local bookshop, or secondhand, and I would honestly rather you read it than buy it.

How books are chosen

Books are chosen because they suit the feeling the page is written for, and for no other reason. Nobody pays to appear here. No publisher, author or brand has any say in what goes on this site, and a book is never included because it earns more. Where a book has been removed, it has been for reasons of credibility rather than commerce.

The same applies to the poems and quotes, which earn nothing at all.

Why this page exists

Amazon requires participants to disclose the relationship, which is fair enough. But I would want to tell you anyway. This site only works if you can trust that a book is here because it might genuinely help, and that trust is worth more than the few pence a link earns.
